- Michael Flynn, President Donald Trump's former national security adviser, was met with chants of "Lock him up!" outside a Washington, DC, courthouse after pleading guilty to charges of lying to the FBI.
- The chant mirrors one that he and other Trump team members made throughout the 2016 campaign about Democrat Hillary Clinton.
- Flynn faces potential jail time and thousands of dollars in fines.
As Michael Flynn, the former White House national security adviser, left a federal courthouse in Washington, DC, on Friday after pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russians last year, he was greeted with a familiar chant from protestors and hecklers who had gathered outside alongside reporters.
"Lock him up!" they yelled, turning the tables on Flynn, who last year led crowds at the Republican National Convention in the same chant against Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee.

In footage from the convention in July 2016, Flynn enthusiastically joins calls to put Clinton behind bars, apparently for using a private email server while she was secretary of state.
"Yeah, that's right," Flynn said onstage. "Lock her up!"
Flynn later shouted, "If I did a tenth — a tenth — of what she did, I would be in jail today."

President Donald Trump and some of his associates have used the phrase numerous times at campaign rallies and on Twitter.
Flynn has not been sentenced, but the felony charge he pleaded guilty to on Friday carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and fine of up to $250,000.
